  1. Hello,
  2. This is a brief instruction file for the application NSCard Collector. We hope you enjoy the software, and want you to feel free to contact us if you have any concerns, questions or requests for the next update of the software. 
  3. Until the product is purchased, a demo window will appear everytime the application is started. The application is also limited to 10 transactions until the product is registered.

  11. We have tried to keep the application small and easy to use, as we expect a large percentage of our users will be young people, and we don’t feel any application needs to be complicated to be useful.

  13. Items available under the File Menu:

Import Data – Purchase of the application includes updated data files which we will e-mail directly to you. Once you have received the data file, move the file to the NSCard Collector application folder, then select this item to open the data file and update the information stored within the application. Any items we have added to the data file will be added to the application file, and all item values will be updated, including the values of all owned items.

  17. Personalize – This window will allow the user to enter their own personal information. This data must be completed to complete the registration process. The application registration is performed via the Register button on the
  18. product demo window that pops up until the product is registered.

  20. Page Setup – Allows the user to set the parameters for the printing of documents.

  22. Print – Allows the user to print data sheets linked to specific windows within the application. We will be adding more print functions in the next update of the application. This should be expected around August 2000.

  29. Items available under the Edit Menu:

  37. Owned Items – Shows value of all and number of owned items, as well number and value of items in currently selected set. Data from this window can be printed by selecting Print from the File menu.

  39. Sold Items - Shows value and number of of sold items, as well number and value of items in currently selected set.

  41. Manufacturer Sets - Window has popup menus for manufacturers, and the associated sets. User can select the manufacturer and set, and all related items will be shown in the list box within the window.

  43. Transactions - The user is first presented with the transaction window. This window lists all transactions to date, and displays data from the item selected in the list box, including transaction number, date and transaction amounts.
  44. The Close button will close this window.

The View Transactions button will open a window displaying the items involved in the transaction selected in the transaction list. Clicking on the close box will close this window and return the user to the Transactions window. Clicking on the New button in the Transactions window will open the New Transaction window.

  50. The New  Transaction window contains a popup menu containing all Contacts, from which the user can choose the person the transaction is with, and buttons for Buying and Selling items.
  51. Clicking the Buy button opens the Buy window.

The user can choose which manufacturer and set the item of the item from the two popup menus in the window, which will set all matching items in the list box. The user can select an item from the list, enter the amount being paid for the item, and from the third popup menu the condition of the item, and complete the transaction buy clicking the buy button.  The user will do this for every item they wish to have in the transaction, then finish the transaction buy clicking the Accept button, which will then return the user to the New  Transaction Window. Clicking the Cancel button will cancel the transaction and

The Sell window allows the user to choose from items they currently own via the popup menus, which will then fill the list box with matching items based on the manufacturers and sets chosen. The user can set the sell price, then click on the Sell button to record the transaction. Clicking the Accept button will complete the transaction and return the user to the New Transaction window. From the New Transaction window the user can choose accept to finish the transaction, which will return the user to the Transaction window, or choose Cancel to cancel out the previous actions.

The last two menu items are Contacts and Events. Choosing Contacts will open a window, which displays a list of all current contacts.  The data for the contact selected in the list is displayed in the data fields on the left side of the screen. The close button will close the current window. The New button will open a window allowing the user to enter a new contact in the database. The Edit button will open the Edit window, allowing the user to modify the data for the selected contact in the list.
  65. The Event window works in a similar manner, allowing the addition of information of upcoming events.

  68. It is our suggestion that the user complete the contacts fields before entering a transaction. This will simplify the process, and make look-ups much easier.
